Our take

What the C300 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want a small AC station with a sub-10 ms UPS switchover and a five-year warranty, but its 300W inverter and 100W solar input limit it to light loads.

The SOLIX C300 puts 288Wh of LFP storage behind a 300W AC inverter, with SurgePad letting heat-generating loads draw up to 600W. Anker's manual adds two 140W USB-C ports (one of which also charges the unit), a 15W USB-C port, USB-A, a car socket rated 12V 10A and a built-in light bar, all in a 9.1 lb (4.13 kg) case.

The AC side is what separates it from the C300 DC, which shares the 288Wh battery but has no inverter, no UPS mode, a three-year warranty and a 6.17 lb weight. The C300X page lists the same 288Wh, 300W, 600W SurgePad, 100W solar and 10 ms figures as the C300 and does not say what is different, so treat the two as near twins unless Anker clarifies.

For its size the C300 has useful extras. The manual lists a UPS switchover under 10 ms, so it can keep small electronics running through a short outage. It recharges from the wall at up to 330W, which Anker says reaches 80 percent in 50 minutes, and solar input tops out at 100W from 11 to 28V panels. Anker rates it at 25 dB from 3.3 ft, adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth app control, and backs it with a five-year warranty.

The limits are the 300W inverter and the small solar input. SurgePad is meant for heat-generating devices; the manual says it does not support precision instruments and does not work while the unit charges with AC output on.

FAQ

SOLIX C300 questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the C300 last?

288 Wh stored, about 259 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 300 W rating it empties in about 41–45 min.

Is the C300 enough for a CPAP night?

Not quite: less than one 8-hour night from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

What is SurgePad on the C300?

SurgePad lifts the limit to 600 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 300 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 600 W.

What is the C300 solar input?

Its limit is 100 W, below a 200 W panel, so extra panel watts are clipped. Expect about 0.8 days of 5-hour sun to refill it. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

How heavy is the Anker SOLIX C300?

9.1 lb (4.13 kg). That is about 32 Wh per pound.
