Our take

What the C300X is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Suits small AC loads and short outages with its 300W inverter and 10 ms UPS switchover, but Anker publishes no weight or spec table for the C300X, so how it differs from the C300 is unclear.

Anker lists the SOLIX C300X at 288Wh with 300W of AC output and a 600W surge through SurgePad, plus 140W two-way USB-C fast charging. Its page also lists solar input of up to 100W, a 10 ms UPS switchover, 25 dB noise at 3.3 ft, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth app control, LFP cells and a five-year warranty.

Those are the same headline figures Anker gives the C300, and the two pages share most of their wording. What Anker does not explain is how the C300X differs. Its page has no spec table, no weight and no list of what is in the box, so those details are unconfirmed until Anker publishes them. Check the listing before you rely on a particular weight or accessory.

Against the C300 DC, the difference is clear: the C300X has AC outlets and a UPS mode, while the C300 DC is DC-only, with two 140W USB-C ports and a 120W car socket.

On its own terms, the page lists a recharge to 80 percent in 50 minutes from a wall outlet, with solar, a car or the PD 3.1 USB-C port as other options. The FAQ says panels must be 11 to 28V with an XT60 connector. The 300W inverter suits small electronics, lights and fans rather than kitchen appliances, and SurgePad helps only with heat-generating loads up to 600W.

FAQ

SOLIX C300X questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the C300X last?

288 Wh stored, about 259 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 300 W rating it empties in about 41–45 min.

Is the C300X enough for a CPAP night?

Not quite: less than one 8-hour night from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

What is SurgePad on the C300X?

SurgePad lifts the limit to 600 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 300 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 600 W.

What is the C300X solar input?

Its limit is 100 W, below a 200 W panel, so extra panel watts are clipped. Expect about 0.8 days of 5-hour sun to refill it. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Does the C300X work as a UPS?

Anker SOLIX lists a 10 ms switchover when wall power drops.
