Our take

What the AC180 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Suits buyers who want fast AC charging and Power Lifting for kettles and heaters, at the cost of roughly 35 to 37 lb and extra capacity only through Power Bank Mode.

The AC180 offers 1,152Wh of LiFePO4 and 1,800W of continuous pure sine wave output across four AC outlets. BLUETTI lists a 2,700W surge rating, and its Power Lifting mode lets resistive loads such as kettles and heaters run at up to 2,700W. BLUETTI's spec table also covers the AC180P, a 1,440Wh version; this page is about the standard AC180.

Its practical strengths are charging and ports. BLUETTI lists up to 1,440W AC input in Turbo mode with a 0 to 80 percent charge in about 45 minutes, and its FAQ gives a quieter 260W Silent mode that takes about 4.9 hours. Solar input reaches 500W. Outputs include a 100W USB-C port, four USB-A ports, a regulated 12V car outlet and a 15W wireless charging pad. The battery is rated for 3,500 or more cycles to 80 percent capacity, with a five-year warranty and Bluetooth app control.

The downsides are weight and expansion. BLUETTI's own page lists the weight as about 35.3 lb (16 kg) in its spec table and 37 lb (17 kg) in its product text, so expect roughly 35 to 37 lb. The product page does not list a UPS switchover time; BLUETTI's user manual gives 20 ms or less, which is what our table uses. It has no plug-in expansion port, but BLUETTI lists its B80, B230 and B300 batteries for topping it up in Power Bank Mode, up to 4,224Wh in total.

FAQ

AC180 questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the AC180 last?

1,152 Wh stored, about 1,037 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 1,800 W rating it empties in about 28–31 min.

What is Power Lifting on the AC180?

Power Lifting lifts the limit to 2,700 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 1,800 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 2,700 W.

What is the AC180 solar input?

Up to 500 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 1.6 sunny days; panels at the full 500 W need about 3.1 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the AC180 run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 2 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

Does the AC180 work as a UPS?

BLUETTI lists a 20 ms switchover when wall power drops.
