Our take

What the Explorer 1000 v2 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want a light 1kWh station with fast wall charging and quiet running, but 1,500W continuous and 400W of solar trail several rivals in its class.

The Explorer 1000 v2 holds 1,070Wh of LiFePO4 at 23.8 lb (10.8 kg), which is light for a 1kWh station. Jackery rates its three AC outlets at 1,500W continuous with a 3,000W surge peak, and it adds two USB-C ports (one 100W, one 30W), a USB-A port and a 12V 10A car port.

The selling points on Jackery's page are fast wall charging and quiet running. Jackery says its Emergency Super Charge mode fills the battery from 0 to 100 percent in one hour, while the spec table lists 1.58 hours on the standard AC adapter. It also claims switchover under 20 ms when used as backup, operation around 30 dB, 4,000 cycles to 70 percent or more capacity, and a 3+2 year warranty when bought from jackery.com. Note that Jackery's cycle rating is to 70 percent capacity, while most rivals quote 80 percent, so the 4,000 figures are not directly comparable.

The weak spots are output and solar. 1,500W continuous is lower than several rivals in the same capacity class, so high-draw appliances such as space heaters or large microwaves may trip it. Solar input tops out at 400W across two 8mm DC ports, which means a full solar recharge takes most of a sunny day. The battery is not expandable, and Jackery itself now points shoppers on this page toward its newer HomePower 1000 v2.
