Our take

What the DELTA 2 Max is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Suits buyers who want 2kWh for a fridge, microwave or window air conditioner with room to expand, but at 50 lb it is a two-hand carry and no UPS switchover time is published.

The DELTA 2 Max is EcoFlow's 2kWh class unit: 2,048Wh of LiFePO4, 2,400W continuous across six AC outlets and a 4,800W surge rating. X-Boost lets resistive loads run up to 3,400W at reduced voltage. That combination handles a fridge, a microwave or a window air conditioner more comfortably than a 1kWh station.

Charging is flexible. EcoFlow lists 1,800W AC fast charging and two solar inputs at 500W each for 1,000W combined, plus support for a car outlet, its Smart Generator and an optional 800W alternator charger. The battery is rated for 3,000 cycles to 80 percent capacity, and capacity expands to 6,144Wh with up to two DELTA 2 Max Smart Extra Batteries. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth app control and a five-year warranty are included.

The main drawback is weight. At 50 lb (23 kg) it is a carry-with-two-hands or wheel-it-in product, not something to move around a campsite casually. The spec sheet we read does not publish a UPS switchover time, so treat it as pass-through power rather than a guaranteed UPS for sensitive equipment unless EcoFlow confirms otherwise. Its rated cycle count is lower than some newer models that list 4,000 cycles.

FAQ

DELTA 2 Max questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA 2 Max last?

2,048 Wh stored, about 1,843 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 2,400 W rating it empties in about 38–41 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 2 Max?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 3,400 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 2,400 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 4,800 W.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA 2 Max?

Yes. EcoFlow lists expansion to 6,144 Wh, about 3 times the built-in 2,048 Wh.

What is the DELTA 2 Max solar input?

Up to 1,000 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 2.8 sunny days; panels at the full 1,000 W need about 2.8 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA 2 Max run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 4 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).
