Our take

What the DELTA 3 Max is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want 2kWh and 2,400W for appliances like a refrigerator or washer at a lighter weight, but solar input is limited to 500W, and the page lists no extra battery support.

The DELTA 3 Max puts 2,048Wh of LiFePO4 behind 2,400W continuous AC output and a 4,800W surge rating. X-Boost runs resistive loads up to 3,400W at reduced voltage, and EcoFlow names refrigerators, coffee makers, washers and circular saws as typical loads. At 20.3 kg, it is the lighter of the two 2kWh DELTA 3 models.

The DELTA 3 Max Plus shares its capacity but adds 3,000W output, 1,000W of solar, 140W USB-C and support for extra batteries, at 22.1 kg. The older DELTA 2 Max also takes extra batteries.

On the Max itself, solar input is 500W, which EcoFlow says takes 3.43 hours to reach 80 percent. Wall or generator charging runs at 1,800W, with 0 to 80 percent in 68 minutes, and a 500W Alternator Charger adds charging while driving.

Two limits stand out. The page lists no extra battery support, and a compatibility note says the unit has only an XT60 port, so reverse charging and battery preservation modes, which need XT150 or 4+8 pin cables, are not available. That makes the 2,048Wh a fixed budget for outages.

The rest of the spec sheet is solid: a UPS switchover under 10 ms, noise of 25 dB or less at 600W, Class B EMC certification, a 126W car outlet and 100W USB-C. The five-year warranty includes two years added on app registration.

FAQ

DELTA 3 Max questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA 3 Max last?

2,048 Wh stored, about 1,843 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 2,400 W rating it empties in about 38–41 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 3 Max?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 3,400 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 2,400 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 4,800 W.

What is the DELTA 3 Max solar input?

Up to 500 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 2.8 sunny days; panels at the full 500 W need about 5.5 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA 3 Max run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 4 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

Does the DELTA 3 Max work as a UPS?

EcoFlow lists a 10 ms switchover when wall power drops.
