Our take

What the DELTA 3 Max Plus is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want 2kWh that runs 3,000W loads today and can expand to 10kWh later, but expansion needs an adapter plus DELTA Pro 3 batteries, and it is heavier than the DELTA 3 Max.

The DELTA 3 Max Plus pairs 2,048Wh of LiFePO4 with 3,000W continuous output and a 6,000W surge rating, and X-Boost runs resistive loads up to 3,800W at reduced voltage. The DELTA 3 Max has the same capacity but is rated at 2,400W, and EcoFlow says the Plus has 25 percent more output than the DELTA 2 Max.

Charging is where it pulls further ahead. Wall charging runs at 1,800W with 0 to 80 percent in 64 minutes. A Smart Generator 4000 can charge it at up to 2,600W, reaching 80 percent in 43 minutes, and the generator can start and stop automatically when the battery runs low. Solar input reaches 1,000W, which EcoFlow says gets it to 80 percent in about 96 minutes, and pairing solar with a 1,000W alternator charger cuts that to 51 minutes.

It is also the expandable one of the two 2kWh DELTA 3 models. EcoFlow lists 2 to 10kWh, with the 10kWh figure needing two DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Batteries and the Smart Extra Battery Expansion Adapter.

Ports include 140W USB-C, a 126W car outlet and a 378W Anderson 12V output that shares power with it. EcoFlow lists a UPS switchover under 10 ms and noise of 25 dB or less at 600W.

The costs are weight and accessories. It weighs 22.1 kg, and the 800W Alternator Charger needs an adapter to connect.

FAQ

DELTA 3 Max Plus questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA 3 Max Plus last?

2,048 Wh stored, about 1,843 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 3,000 W rating it empties in about 30–33 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 3 Max Plus?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 3,800 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 3,000 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 6,000 W.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA 3 Max Plus?

Yes. EcoFlow lists expansion to 10,000 Wh, about 4.8 times the built-in 2,048 Wh.

What is the DELTA 3 Max Plus solar input?

Up to 1,000 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 2.8 sunny days; panels at the full 1,000 W need about 2.8 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA 3 Max Plus run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 4 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).
