Our take

What the DELTA 3 Ultra is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you need 3kWh and a 30A RV outlet in one unit for home backup or camping, but solar input stops at 800W, and EcoFlow's table lists no expansion for this model.

The DELTA 3 Ultra holds 3,072Wh of LiFePO4 and delivers 3,600W continuous, with a 7,200W surge rating and X-Boost up to 4,600W for resistive loads. Along with four 20A outlets, it has a 30A TT-30 outlet for an RV.

Its most useful feature for home backup is what EcoFlow calls X-Fusion. When the unit is plugged into the grid or a generator in bypass mode, the inverter supplies the outlets, so they can still deliver the full 3,600W rather than being capped by the 1,800W grid input. It connects to a home through a manual transfer switch or an inlet box.

Charging is moderate for the capacity. AC charging runs at 1,800W, reaching 80 percent in 89 minutes, and solar input tops out at 800W, reaching 80 percent in 3.37 hours under EcoFlow's lab conditions.

EcoFlow's own comparison table sets it against the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, a separate model that adds a 1,600W solar input, a 378W Anderson 12V port and support for two extra batteries, for 11kWh in total. That same table lists this model's expansion as 0.

Other listed specs include a UPS switchover under 10 ms, 140W USB-C, a 126W car outlet, noise of 25 dB or less at 600W and Class B EMC certification. It weighs 32.7 kg, so it is a unit to park rather than carry around.

FAQ

DELTA 3 Ultra questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA 3 Ultra last?

3,072 Wh stored, about 2,765 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 3,600 W rating it empties in about 38–41 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 3 Ultra?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 4,600 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 3,600 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 7,200 W.

What is the DELTA 3 Ultra solar input?

Up to 800 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 4.1 sunny days; panels at the full 800 W need about 5.2 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA 3 Ultra run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 7 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

Does the DELTA 3 Ultra work as a UPS?

EcoFlow lists a 10 ms switchover when wall power drops.
