Our take

What the DELTA Pro is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take A good fit for a buyer who wants about 3.6kWh and 3,600W of backup on wheels with room for two extra batteries, but its page lists no UPS switchover time and it is louder than the DELTA Pro 3.

The DELTA Pro is the older of the two DELTA Pro units in our catalog. It holds 3,600Wh of LiFePO4 and delivers 3,600W continuous with a 7,200W surge rating, and X-Boost runs resistive devices up to 4,500W. Two units joined by EcoFlow's Double Voltage Hub reach 7,200W of output for a transfer switch setup.

Charging options are broad for its age. It takes 1,800W from a 120V outlet, about 2.7 hours to full, or 3,000W from a 240V outlet in about 1.8 hours. Solar input reaches 1,600W on an 11 to 150V input, and EcoFlow also lists charging at EV stations at 3,400W in 1.7 hours.

Each unit accepts up to two DELTA Pro Smart Extra Batteries. EcoFlow's 25kWh headline figure needs two units, two extra batteries on each and two Smart Generators, per its FAQ.

The newer DELTA Pro 3 moves ahead on several specs: 4,096Wh, more solar input, a listed 10 ms UPS, 4,000 cycles to 80 percent and noise as low as 30 dB. The DELTA Pro lists 3,500 cycles to 80 percent and 6,500 to 50 percent. Its page does not list a UPS switchover time. EcoFlow puts its fan noise at 48 to 60 dB at 1 meter, depending on load, and standby draw at about 30W with the AC output on. At 99 lb, it relies on its wheels and handle.

FAQ

DELTA Pro questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA Pro last?

3,600 Wh stored, about 3,240 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 3,600 W rating it empties in about 44–49 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA Pro?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 4,500 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 3,600 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 7,200 W.

What is the DELTA Pro solar input?

Up to 1,600 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 4.8 sunny days; panels at the full 1,600 W need about 3 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA Pro run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 8 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

How heavy is the EcoFlow DELTA Pro?

99 lb (45 kg). That is about 36 Wh per pound.
