Our take

What the DELTA Pro 3 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Suits a household that wants 120V and 240V backup with room to grow to 12kWh, but at 51.5 kg it moves on wheels, and switching to 240V turns off the 120V outlets.

The DELTA Pro 3 is a home-backup unit rather than a station you carry to camp. It holds 4,096Wh of LiFePO4 and delivers 4,000W continuous at 120V or 240V, with an 8,000W surge rating and X-Boost up to 6,000W. The outlets include four NEMA 5-20R, a TT-30R for RVs, a 240V 6-20R and an L14-30R that EcoFlow pairs with an inlet box for home circuits.

One detail from EcoFlow's FAQ matters for planning: the 120V and 240V output buttons are exclusive, and switching on 240V turns off the 120V outlets.

Recharge options are wide. Solar reaches 2,600W across two inputs, 1,600W on a 30 to 150V port and 1,000W on an 11 to 60V port. EcoFlow lists 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes with its X-Stream charging, and it also charges from a car, a generator or, with EcoFlow's EV X-Stream Adapter, a Level 2 EV charger.

One unit takes two DELTA Pro 3 Extra Batteries for 12kWh. EcoFlow's 36kWh and 48kWh figures need three units and a Smart Home Panel 2. The older DELTA Pro Smart Extra Battery also works, with some charge imbalance when mixed.

The UPS switchover is listed at 10 ms, the battery pack is rated IP65, and the cycle rating is 4,000 cycles to 80 percent capacity, with a five-year warranty. The trade-off is bulk: at 51.5 kg (113.54 lb), it relies on its wheels and handle.

FAQ

DELTA Pro 3 questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA Pro 3 last?

4,096 Wh stored, about 3,686 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 4,000 W rating it empties in about 45–50 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA Pro 3?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 6,000 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 4,000 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 8,000 W.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA Pro 3?

Yes. EcoFlow lists expansion to 12,000 Wh, about 2.9 times the built-in 4,096 Wh.

What is the DELTA Pro 3 solar input?

Up to 2,600 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 5.5 sunny days; panels at the full 2,600 W need about 2.2 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA Pro 3 run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 9 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).
