What the DELTA 3 runs

From its 1,800 W AC outlets, 3 of 6 listed devices last their usual hours, the fridge, microwave (1,000 w cooking power) and space heater do not.

  • Tight fit

    Fridge 123 W

    14–16 h

It runs about 16 h 17 min, short of the 24 h you need. Runtime at its 41 W average, as the compressor cycles.

  • Runs briefly

    Microwave (1,000 W cooking power) 1500 W

    30–33 min

The DELTA 3 runs it, but only for about 32 min at 1,500 W.

  • Runs briefly

    Space heater 1500 W

    30–33 min

The DELTA 3 runs it, but only for about 32 min at 1,500 W.

  • Runs it

    TV 120 W

    5–6 h

    120 W running and a 120 W startup peak fit within the DELTA 3's 1,800 W continuous and 3,600 W surge ratings.

  • Runs it

    CPAP with humidifier 34 W

    16–19 h

    34 W running and a 34 W startup peak fit within the DELTA 3's 1,800 W continuous and 3,600 W surge ratings.

  • Runs it

    Wi-Fi router 10 W

    34–43 h

    10 W running and a 10 W startup peak fit within the DELTA 3's 1,800 W continuous and 3,600 W surge ratings.

Our take

What the DELTA 3 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want a 1kWh station that can grow to 5kWh with extra batteries later, but its single 500W solar input refills from the sun more slowly than the DELTA 3 Plus.

The DELTA 3 is the middle of EcoFlow's three 1kWh DELTA 3 models. It has 1,024Wh of LiFePO4 and 1,800W continuous across six AC outlets, with a 3,600W surge rating, in a 27.6 lb case.

Two things separate it from the DELTA 3 Classic: expansion and a fuller set of ports. The DELTA 3 spec table lists support for DELTA 3, DELTA 2, DELTA 2 Max and DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries, up to 5kWh in total, plus a 126W car outlet among 13 outputs; the Classic page lists neither. Going the other way, the DELTA 3 Plus adds a second 500W solar input and 140W USB-C, where this model has one solar input and 100W USB-C.

Wall charging is fast, with 1,500W AC input and a full charge in 56 minutes by EcoFlow's figures. Solar input reaches 500W on an 11 to 60V input, which EcoFlow says fills the battery in about 2 hours under ideal conditions. The UPS switchover is listed at under 10 ms, the battery pack is rated IP65, and the cycle rating is 4,000 cycles to 80 percent capacity, backed by a five-year warranty.

One figure on the page is inconsistent. The spec table gives X-Boost as 2,200W for resistive loads, while a paragraph higher up says over 2,600W; we use the spec table. Noise is listed as under 30 dB below 600W and under 40 dB at 1,200W.

FAQ

DELTA 3 questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the DELTA 3 last?

1,024 Wh stored, about 922 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 1,800 W rating it empties in about 25–27 min.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 3?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 2,200 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 1,800 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 3,600 W.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA 3?

Yes. EcoFlow lists expansion to 5,000 Wh, about 4.8 times the built-in 1,024 Wh.

What is the DELTA 3 solar input?

Up to 500 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 1.4 sunny days; panels at the full 500 W need about 2.8 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the DELTA 3 run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: 2 nights of 8 hours from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).
