What the RIVER 2 Pro runs

From its 800 W AC outlets, 3 of 6 listed devices last their usual hours, the fridge, microwave (1,000 w cooking power) and space heater do not.

  • Tight fit

    Fridge 123 W

    10–12 h

It runs about 12 h 12 min, short of the 24 h you need. Runtime at its 41 W average, as the compressor cycles.

  • Can't run it

    Microwave (1,000 W cooking power) 1500 W

    Not available

Draws 1,500 W; the RIVER 2 Pro is rated 800 W continuous. It will shut off.

  • Runs briefly

    Space heater 1500 W

    22–25 min

The RIVER 2 Pro runs it, but only for about 24 min at 1,500 W.

  • Runs it

    TV 120 W

    4 h

    120 W running and a 120 W startup peak fit within the RIVER 2 Pro's 800 W continuous and 1,600 W surge ratings.

  • Runs it

    CPAP with humidifier 34 W

    12–14 h

    34 W running and a 34 W startup peak fit within the RIVER 2 Pro's 800 W continuous and 1,600 W surge ratings.

  • Runs it

    Wi-Fi router 10 W

    25–32 h

    10 W running and a 10 W startup peak fit within the RIVER 2 Pro's 800 W continuous and 1,600 W surge ratings.

Our take

What the RIVER 2 Pro is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want a carry-along 768Wh unit that refills from the wall in about 70 minutes, but its 800W output and under 30 ms EPS switchover suit lighter loads and less sensitive gear.

The RIVER 2 Pro sits between the small RIVER 3 Plus and the 1kWh DELTA 3 models in EcoFlow's lineup. It holds 768Wh of LiFePO4 in an 18.2 lb case and delivers 800W continuous with a 1,600W surge rating. X-Boost lets resistive loads such as a hair dryer or kettle run at up to 1,600W at reduced voltage, which drains a battery this size quickly.

Charging is its strong point for the size. EcoFlow lists 940W AC input and a full charge in 70 minutes. Solar tops out at 220W on an 11 to 50V input, and EcoFlow's own estimate is up to 1.8kWh a day from the sun. Car and USB-C charging are also supported. On the output side there is a 100W USB-C port, a 126W car outlet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth app control, 3,000 cycles to 80 percent capacity and a five-year warranty.

The limits come from its size. EcoFlow lists its EPS switchover as under 30 ms. The DELTA 3 models list 10 ms, so the RIVER 2 Pro is better treated as backup for lights, a router or a fish tank than as a UPS for a desktop computer. The page lists no extra battery option, and EcoFlow notes it can reach 62 dB when charging or discharging at high wattage.

FAQ

RIVER 2 Pro questions

Answers use the same published specs and labelled assumptions as the calculator.

How long will the RIVER 2 Pro last?

768 Wh stored, about 691 Wh of it usable at the typical estimate. At its full 800 W rating it empties in about 42–46 min.

What is X-Boost on the RIVER 2 Pro?

X-Boost lifts the limit to 1,600 W, for resistive loads (kettles, heaters) only. Motors and electronics stay capped at 800 W. Motor starts can briefly pull up to 1,600 W.

What is the RIVER 2 Pro solar input?

Up to 220 W of panels. A single 200 W panel needs about 1.1 sunny days; panels at the full 220 W need about 4.7 peak-sun hours. Panels are assumed to deliver 75% of their rating.

Can the RIVER 2 Pro run a CPAP overnight?

Yes: one 8-hour night from a CPAP drawing 34 W with its heated humidifier and tube on (ResMed's measured figure).

Does the RIVER 2 Pro work as a UPS?

EcoFlow lists a 30 ms switchover when wall power drops.
