Our take

What the Explorer 600 v2 is good at, and what to watch for

KiloHour take Pick it if you want a light 640Wh station for camping or desk backup with fast UPS switching, but 500W continuous limits it to smaller devices.

Jackery fits 640Wh of LiFePO4 into the Explorer 600 v2 at 14.11 lb (6.4 kg), and calls it the lightest 600Wh LFP station. Two AC outlets share 500W continuous with a 1,000W surge peak. The manual lists one 100W USB-C, a second USB-C at 30W, an 18W USB-A and a 12V 10A car port.

Where it stands out is backup behavior. Jackery rates its UPS switchover at 10 ms, faster than the 20 ms it lists for the smaller Explorer 240 v2, which makes it a reasonable buffer for a router, a desktop computer or a work call. Its ZeroDrain feature is rated to lose 5 percent or less charge over six months in storage, and the manual rates the cells for 6,000 cycles to 70 percent capacity. Jackery's lab figures give 100 minutes on the wall and 70 minutes with hybrid charging.

Solar input is a single 8mm port. Jackery quotes 0 to 80 percent in 3.5 hours from a 200W panel, and solar input tops out at 200W, so larger arrays add nothing.

The ceiling is the inverter. 500W continuous covers laptops, TVs, small fans and a car fridge, but not kettles, hair dryers or microwaves. The manual lists no expansion port either, so a long outage with a full-size fridge calls for a 1kWh-class model instead.
